HERBS - AYAHUMA | COUROUPITA GUIANENSIS | CANNONBALL TREE | DEAD HEAD TREE
Form: Powder in 120 capsules (30 day supply at 4 per day)
Ayahuma is the soul tree, the heart tree. Just have a look at it and see that its crown resembles a giant open heart.
The physical tree itself is unique and distinct because it bears large reddish brown fruits that look like cannonballs hanging around the trunk area and off the branches. It is also called the Dead Head Tree, because the head medicine spirit looks like a headless giant sometimes carrying a cannonball in each hand. Ayahuma can help you get out of your head and into your heart, and its a wonderful symbol for this that the tree spirit itself doesn’t even have a head!
- Ayahuma not only provides protection but is used for healing the loss of soul or spirit (“susto”). Ayahuma assists in retrieving fragmented parts of the spirit that got stuck in time, from a trauma or from fright. It helps bring that fragmentation back to the here and now to be united with the heart.
- Ayahuma is also a great guide in the dream space. I invite you to explore more of Ayahuma. Call on it before you go to sleep, set the intention for it to help guide you in your dream space towards healing and growth.

Other traditional uses
This tree grows to approximately 55 metres in height. It takes its English name from the fact that it produces large round fruits which resemble cannonballs. These fruits are inedible, but, due to its antibacterial and antifungal properties, the flesh is used in the Peruvian Amazon to treat skin conditions and disinfect wounds.. Its bark can be used to treat common colds and stomach upset. The young leaves are chewed to treat toothache. A mixture of the fruit and bark are used for reducing inflammation and muscular pain. The fruit are also dried and made into a powder to treat hair loss. It produces very colourful white, red, orange and pink flowers.
This tree is a saced teacher plant and used by shamans for its curative/spiritual qualities. It can be used as part of a shamanic dieta or as an admixture to Ayahuasca.
